HEALTH CLINIC
At Sibiu - Durham Sister Cities, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Health Clinic is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Sibiu - Durham Sister Cities knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. We realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Sibiu - Durham Sister Cities
Our ultimate goal is to build a bridge to our home land.
2014 was the year of some timid beginnings. Negotiations with the mayors office in Cisnadie was followed by the first edition of the International Festival for Classical Music "Erich Bergel & Dorothy Kitchen". This initiative grew beyond our wildest expectations in 2017 when we had 184 young participants, from three countries, competing in seven instrument groups. Head of the seven juries was non other than the greatest Romanian classical musician alive Ilarion Ionescu Galati.
We were teetering on the verge of a major international classical music event and needed support beyond the private donations from my tennis friends.
Uniting Sibiu with Durham came as a natural follow up. Getting involved at large Sibiu and Durham was the right thing to do. In the process we hoped to find and access corporate financial support for our various programs of which one is continuing the International Classical Music festival.
